Greenvale is a hamlet in the Towns of North Hempstead and Oyster Bay in Nassau County, New York. The community is served by the Roslyn School District. Known as Cedar Swamp until 1866, Greenvale’s location on the North Shore made it a popular site for many Gold Coast era mansions. Today, Greenvale is known as the place to depart the Long Island Rail Road if you are heading to the C.W. Post’s Brookville campus and the New York Institute of Technology.
