Many houses have views of the water, or back onto a golf course or a former Gold Coast estate that is now the Nassau County Museum of Art. The Village of Roslyn Harbor was incorporated at the same time that the adjacent Village of Roslyn was incorporated. The owners of the estates in Roslyn Harbor established a separate village as they felt their needs were different from those of the inhabitants of the more densely populated Village of Roslyn.
